AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION BY ALAMEDA FREE LIBRARY IN
FEDERAL LIBRARY SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ACT PROECT
UNDERTAKEN BY EAST BAY COOPERATIVE LIBRARY SYSTEM,
AND AUTHORIZING ALAMEDA COUNTY LIBRARIAN TO EXECUTE
PROJECT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, pursuant to its Resolution No,, . 6549, 6982 and 715W, the City author-
ized. memberahIp in the East Bay Cooperative Library System by the AAameda Free Library;
and
WHEREAS, said System proposes to antsr into a library services project with
the federal government under the Library Services and Constrwction Act, for the fiscal
year 196E-70, and the Library Board has recommended to thiP Council that the Alameda Free
Library participate therein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESDIVED BY TEE COUNCIL Cr THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the
Alambda Free Library be and. it hereo y. is authorized. to participate in 7 said proposed
project hereinabwve referred to, are the Alameda County Librarian is authorized to exe-
cute - Library' Services and Construction Act application therefor on behalf of said Library;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is hereby certified that, during the continuance
of said propos1 d. project, the Alameda Free Library will comply with the requirements of
Ti t16 VI of tne federal Civil Rights Act of 1E644
BF IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, to the extent determinable by it, the Alameda Free
Library can be expected to support financially. the proposed project after Its completion
at such level as said Library may deem necessary to continuo tb,e services established by
the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Library Board is hereby authorized to undertake and
do all things necessary or appropriate in connection with said project, within the mean-
ing and intent of this resolution,
