CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7588
RECOMMENDING DESIGNATION OF COUNTY OF ALAMEDA AS AGENT FOR
IMPLEMENTING FEDERAL TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, a federal program entitled 'Traffic Operations Planning to Increase Capacity and
Safety'' (hereinafter, TOPICS) has been implemented by legislation which became effective November 10,
1969, and
WHEREAS, Federal funds available to the State and to local government under this program
are to be apportioned to local agencies for expenditure within urban areas: and
WHEREAS, the Chairman of the Interim TOPICS Advisory Committee of the State of California
has requested the County of Alameda to contact cities within said County to determine their recom-
mendations as to a Coordinating Agent for the urban areas within the County of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the County of Alameda has contacted this City to ascertain its recommendation
as to a Coordinating Agent for the TOPICS program in this area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ft= ALAMEDA recommends that
the County of Alameda be designated as the Coordinating Agent for the TOPICS program in the urban
areas within the County of Alameda; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the County of Alameda
so that said County may respond to the request of the Chairman of the Interim TOPICS Advisory Committee
of the State of California.
