RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN MEMORIAM
TO FRANK D. McELHINNEY, RETIRED SUBSTATION OPERATOR
IN A SPIRIT OF SADNESS, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death of one of its
former loyal employees, FRANK D, McELHINNEY.
WHEREAS, Mr. McElhinney had commenced his employ with the City on October 22, 1936, as a
Substation Operator, and had performed his duties capably and conscientiously in that capacity until
the date of his retirement on July 31, 1957; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McElhinney had always been a most friendly person, with a keen sense of humor
and an enthusiastic interest in the affairs of the City and its employees which continued after his
retirement.
1109, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Alameda does hereby express
it appreciation for the reliable service given by Mr. McElhinney during the period of his employment
with the City and its sense of personal loss in his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread in full upon the minutes of this
meeting and a copy thereof be sent to the family of Mr. McElhinney in order to extend to its members
sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that when this meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda adjourns,
it shall do so in respect to the memory of FRANK D. McELHINNEY.
