CONFIRMING CANVASS BY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ALAMEDA COUNTY
OF STATE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD JUNE 2, 1970
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda did duly canvass the votes cast
in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, at the Special Municipal Charter Amend-
ment Election consolidated with the State of California Primary Election held on June 2, 1970, in said
City by the electors of said City upon the Charter Amendment Measure hereinafter set forth, and the
County Clerk of said County did certify to this Council the result of the votes cast at said Election
upon said Measure, which certification is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of
Alameda - being Resolution No. 134671A of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda, State of
California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows:
1. Said canvass by the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County as shown by said certification and
the result of said Election is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved.
2. At said Election the following Charter Amendment Measure to the Charter of the City of Alameda
was submitted to the electors of said City and the number of votes cast in said City for and against
said Measure was as follows:
AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
MEASURE C:
Shall the Charter of the City of Alameda be amended
to provide that the Mayor of the City of Alameda be an
elective office, that said Mayor shall receive a monthly
compensation therefor of Two Hundred Dollars (S200.00),
and that the City Council thereafter consist of such
elected Mayor and four elected Councilmen? Such amend-
ment will be accomplished by adding Section 2-1.1 and
Section 3-1.1 to said Charter, all as fully set forth in
Resolution No. 7598 of the Council of the City of Alameda.

3. The total number of votes cast in said City of Alameda at said Special Municipal Charter Amend-
ment Election and the total number of votes given in each precinct for and against said Charter Amendment
Measure was and is as set forth in said canvass by the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County.
4. More than a majority of all the votes cast at said Special Municipal Charter Amendment Election
on Measure C were in favor of said Measure and authorized the Amendment to the Charter of the City of
Alameda as set forth in said Charter Amendment Measure and this particular Measure passed.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
7th day of July, 1970, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Fore, Levy, Longaker, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
