CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7720
ORDERING CANCELLATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES ERRONEOUSLY
LEVIED (TODD SHIPYARDS CORPORATION)
WHEREAS, Todd Shipyards Corporation has requested exemption from personal property taxes on
the partially completed experimental floating facility referred to and described in Assessor's Block
AB 392/5 for 1970; and
WHEREAS, this Council hereby finds and determines that said partially completed facility with
an assessed value of $2,105,000.00 comprises sections of a "vessel" which, at present, is under construc-
tion at said assessee's place of business in the City of Alameda, and that vessels under construction are
exempt from taxation pursuant to the provisions of Section 209.5 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of
California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the request of Todd
Shipyards Corporation for exemption from personal property taxes on the value of partially completed
sections of the experimental floating facility hereinabove referred to and described in Assessor's Block
AB 392/5 with an assessed value of $2,105,000.00 for 1970 be and hereby is granted, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 3-912 of the Alameda Municipal Code and upon
the written recommendation of the City Auditor and ex-officio Assessor, it is hereby ordered that the
personal property taxes for the 1970-1971 Roll, hereby referred to and having an assessed value of
$2,105,000.00, be and the same is cancelled as having been erroneously levied.
