CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7727
CONFIRMING REPORT OF SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF CONSTRUCTION,
AND COST THEREOF, OF WORK PERFORMED IN BUENA VISTA AVENUE
STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (1970), ASSESSING SUCH
COST AGAINST PARCELS OF PROPERTY FRONTING ON STREET THEREIN,
MAKING SAID SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS LIEN ON SAID PROPERTIES, AND
ORDERING CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE CERTIFICATE AND NOTICE OF LIEN
AND FILE SAME WITH CITY TAX COLLECTOR
WHEREAS, the City Engineer and ex-officio Superintendent of Streets has filed his Report
specifying the work which has been done, the cost of construction, and the assessment against each lot
or parcel of land proposed to be levied to pay said cost, in the Buena Vista Avenue Street Lighting
Improvement District (1970), all as authorized by this Council by its Resolution No. 7662 adopted
August 4, 1970; and
WHEREAS, after notice of said Report duly given to the affected property owners, a hearing
thereon was held by this Council on February 16, 1971, for the purpose of passing upon said Report,
together with any objections or protests raised by any property owner liable to be assessed for such
costs or by any other interested party, and the Council thereupon being fully advised in the premises;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the following findings,
determinations and orders be and are hereby made in the matter of the Buena Vista Avenue Street Lighting
Improvement District (1970):
(1) The Report of the City Engineer, ex-officio Superintendent of Streets, hereinabove referred
to, is hereby confirmed as submitted;
(2) The total cost and assessment of the construction of the work done in said District is
51,037.65;
(3) The description of the lots cf land in front of which said work has been performed and
said lighting installed is:
All those parcels of land on the north and south sides of Buena Vista Avenue
between a point 225 feet west of Fifth Street and Webster Street, all as
more particularly delineated on City Engineer's Drawing No. 6486, Case 41;
(4) The assessment of said cost against each lot or parcel of land to he levied to pay the
said cost of construction and installation is:

(5) Said costs so assessed are hereby confirmed and, if not paid within five (5) days from
the date of this resolution, shall constitute e special assessment against each parcel of property herein-
above listed, and shall constitute a lien on each said property for the respective amount thereof.
(6) The City Engineer shall file his Certificate and notice of lien upon said parcels, said
notice to be substantially in the form of that contained in Section 5891, Streets and Highways Code of
California.
Said City Engineer's Certificate and notice of lien shall be turned over to the Tax Collector
of the City of Alameda, as an alternative method of collection of the amounts thereof authorized by
Section 5893 of said Code, whereupon said Tax Collector shall add the amount of assessment, or installment
thereof, to the next regular bill for taxes levied against the respective lot or parcel of land.
Thereafter the amount of said liens shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner
as ordinary City of Alameda taxes are collected, and shall be subject to the same penalties and interest
and to the same procedure under foreclosure and sale in case of delinquency as provided for such ordinary
taxes.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
16th day of February, 1971, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Fore, Levy, Longaker, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
