ORDERING VACATION OF UNUSED PUBLIC SERVICE EASEMENT (LAGOON
DRAINAGE - SOUTH END HAWTHORNE STREET)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF )1LAMEDA that the certain storm drainage ease-
ment heretofore in 1958 acquired for public purposes, situated in the City of Alameda, County of
Alameda, State of California, more particularly described as:
A parcel of land in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California,
being a portion of the lands dedicated to the public for drainage purposes designated
as "LAGOON" on the map of Tract 1898 and being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the center line of Hawthorne Street with the general
northerly line of Tract 1898 as said center line and general northerly line
are shown on the map of Tract 1898, filed August 22, 1958, at pages 89 to
92 inclusive in Map Book 38, Official Records of Alameda County;
THENCE along the Orect extension southerly of said center line of Hawthorne Street
South 2 46' 15" West 17.37 feet (based on the California Coordinate System,
Zone 3, as are all bearings and distances in this description) to the south-
westerly face of an existing sea wall, as shown on said map;
THENCE along said southwesterly face North 59° 25 47" West 35.66 feet to an angle
point in said sea wall;
THENCE along the westerly face of said sea wall North 2° 46' 15" East 9.08 feet to said
general northerly line of Tract 1898;
THENCE along said general northerly line South 72° 25' 00" East 32.63 feet to the
BEGINNING,
is hereby ordered vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 50443 of the Government Code of Cali-
fornia.
BE IT FUR1HER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby finds and determines
that (1) the said public service easement herein ordered vacated is unnecessary for present or prospective
public use, and (2) said easement has not been used for the purpose for which it was acquired for more
than five (5) consecutive years preceding the vacation herein ordered.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
2nd day of March, 1971, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Fore, Levy, Longaker, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
