AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF ESCROW AGREEMENT PROVIDING FOR
DEPOSIT OF MONEY IN CONNECTION WITH CONSTRUCTION OF CITY
APPROACHES TO FRUITVALE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
WHEREAS, by its Resolution No. 7661 adopted August 4, 1970, this Council concurred with the
U. S. Army Corps of Engineers as to the technical aspects of the proposed federal plans for replacement
of the Fruitvale Avenue Bridge, and offered assurance that the City would provide funds for design and
construction of necessary approaches within the City to said Bridge and assume costs thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary and desirable that such funds be provided and, in order that
the City may receive interest on such funds prior to actual expenditure, it is proposed an escrow agree-
ment between the United States, the Wells Fargo Bank, and the City of Alameda be entered into providing
for the deposit and disbursement thereof; and
WHEREAS, such an agreement has been prepared and placed on file in the office of the City
Clerk marked "Filed, March 2, 1971," and it is in the public interest the City become a party thereto,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager and
City Clerk be and each hereby is authorized and directed to execute and attest to, respectively, on
behalf of the City, the agreement hereinabove in the last recital referred to, and the money therein to
be deposited, namely, $72,700.00, is hereby ordered paid in accordance with the terms of said agreement.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
2nd day of March, 1971, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Fore, Levy, Longaker, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
