CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 7808
AMENDING SALARY AND POSITION RESOLUTION NO. 7805 RELATING
TO COMPENSATION AND OVERTIME PAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that SECTION 1 of Resolution No. 7806,
adopted July 13, 1971, be amended as follows:

In addition to normal compensation, positions in classifications at the rank of Fire Captain
or Fire Lieutenant on regular assignment to the Fire Prevention 3ureau shall receive a salary differential
of one full step (5%) per month while so assigned. Positions et the rank of Fireman shall receive a
salary differential of 6% while on such assignment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that SECTION 2 of Resolution No. 7806 is hereby amended by amending
Subsection 5.8. to read as follows:
5. OVERTIME PAY
B. Fire Department
i. For sworn personnel at or below the rank of Fire Captain, time and one-half shall
be paid for all overtime worked subsequent to July 1, 1971, which exceeds an
accumulation for each member of 24 hours.
ii. Required attendance at educational or training courses during a member's off-duty
period shall be compensated for as overtime. A member who becomes eligible for
overtime under this section shall not, in addition, be eligible for benefits under
the Educational Reimbursement Plan for required in-service training courses.
iii. A sworn member at or below the rank of Fire Captain who is required to be on duty
on his regular day off, or on a regular duty day contiguous with his regular duty
shift, shall be guaranteed a minimum of two hours overtime to his credit, with the
provision that less than 15 minutes overtime at the beginning or end of the duty
shift shall not be credited as overtime for the purposes of pay or time off.
