CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7894
REJECTING CLAIM OF CARROLL BARNES AGAINST CITY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the claim for damages and
personal injury against the City in the amount of $2,800.00 heretofore on February 24, 1972, filed
by Carroll Barnes, whose address is 401 - 38th Street, Oakland, California, be rejected in its
entirety on the grounds said claim is not a proper charge against the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of said rejection be in the following words and that
certified copies of this resolution be mailed to said claimant, Carroll Barnes, 401 - 38th Street,
Oakland, California 94609, and to claimant's attorney, Henry Hewitt, Legal Aid Snciety of Alameda
County, 2357 San Pablo Avenue, Oakland, California 94612:
"NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the claim which you presented to the City
of Alameda on February 24, 1972, was rejected on March 21, 1972,
WARNING
Subject to certain exceptions, you have only six months from the date
this notice was personally delivered or deposited in the mail to file
a court action on this claim. See Government Code Section 945.6.
You may seek the advice of an attorney of your choice in connection
with this matter. If you desire to consult an attorney, vou should do
so immediately."

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
21st day of March, 1972, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Fore, Levy, Longaker, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
