CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7929
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN APPRECIATION
AND COMMENDATION OF DR. ARTHUR GUERRA FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA records with great admiration and esteem the long period
of service faithfully rendered by Dr. ARTHUR GUERRA as a Physician and as an employee and official of
the City.
WHEREAS, Dr. Guerra was employed by the City of Alameda on August 3, 1942, as an Emergency
Surgeon, was named City Physician and Emergency Surgeon on August 10, 1962, and on July 1, 1968, was
appointed to the position of City Physician, in which capacity he was serving capably and conscientiously
at the time of his retirement on April 1, 1972; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Guerra has demonstrated his dedication to and concern for the physical well-
being and the welfare of the people of the community during fifty years of service in his profession and
by his unselfish contribution of time and effort to the activities of the social and philanthropic
organizations of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby commends and
acknowledges with gratitude and respect the sense of integrity, loyalty and ability displayed by this
exceptional gentleman in his many years of reliable service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda extends to Dr. ARTHUR GUERRA
hearty congratulations upon his retirement and best wishes for good health and happiness in the future.
