CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7972
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF LEASE MEMORANDUM BETWEEN CITY
AND ALASKA PACKERS ASSOCIATION; INC. (FORTMANN BASIN)
WHEREAS, on March 30, 1971, Alaska Packers Association, Inc., lessee under that certain
lease between the City and said Association of certain City-owned tide and submerged lands executed
March 4, 1947, and authorized by Ordinance No. 911, New Series, exercised its option under Para. 5
of said instrument to renew the term thereof for a further period commencing April 5, 1972, and
ending April 4, 1997; and
WHEREAS, on March 7, 1972, by its Resolution No. 7891 this Council acknowledged said
lessee's exercise of said option; and
WHEREAS, on May 15, 1967, said Association was merged into California Packing Corporation,
which became thereupon the surviving entity and which subsequently was made assignee of said lease; and
WHEREAS, said original lease was not recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Alameda
County and, by virtue of said merger and exercise of option, it is necessary to said Corporation that
evidence of said lease be so recorded;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that a Memorandum of
Lease between said parties be entered into, and the Mayor and City Clerk are, and each hereby is,
authorized and directed to execute and to attest to, respectively, on behalf of the City, a "Memorandum
of Lease" substantially in the form of that or file in the office of the City Clerk and marked, "Filed,
August 15, 1972."

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
15th day of August, 1972, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Fore, Levy, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Longaker, (1).
