CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7985
CONFIRMING REPORT OF SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF CONSTRUCTION,
AND COST THEREOF, OF WORK PERFORMED IN CLAY STREET STREET-
LIGHTING IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, ASSESSING SUCH COST AGAINST
PARCELS OF PROPERTY FRONTING ON STREET THEREIN, MAKING SAID
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS LIEN ON SAID PROPERTIES, AND ORDERING CITY
ENGINEER TO MAKE CERTIFICATE AND NOTICE OF LIEN AND FILE SAME
WITH CITY TAX COLLECTOR
WHEREAS, the City Engineer and ex-officio Superintendent of Streets has filed his Report
specifying the work which has been done, the cost of construction, and the assessment against each
lot or parcel of land proposed to be levied to pay said cost, in the Clay Street Street-Lightirg
Improvement District, all as authorized by this Council by its Resolution No. 7957 adopted July 5,
1972; and
WHEREAS, after notice of said Report duly given to the affected property owners, a hearing
thereon was held by this Council on October 3, 1972 for the purpose of passing upon said Report,
together with any objections or protests raised by any property owner liable to be assessed for such
costs or by any other interested party, and the Council thereupon being fully advised in the premises;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the following
findings, determinations and orders be and are hereby made in the matter of the Clay Street Street-
Lighting Improvement District;
(1) The Report of the City Engineer, ex-officio Superintendent of Streets, hereinabove
referred to, is hereby confirmed as submitted;
(2) The total cost and assessment of the construction of the work done in said District
is $211.28;
(3) The description of the lots of land in front of which said work has been performed and
said lighting installed is:
The land on both sides of Clay Street between Pearl Street and tne end
of Clay Street, e distance of 272 feet;
(4) The assessment of said cost against each lot or parcel of land to be levied to pay the
said cost of construction and installation is:

(5) Said costs so assessed are hereby confirmed and, if not paid within five (5) days
from the date of this resolution, shall constitute a special assessment against each Parcel of property
hereinabove listed, and shall constitute a lien on each said Property for the respective amount thereof.
(6) The City Engineer shall file his Certificate and Notice of Lien upon said parcels,
said notice to be substantially in the form of that contained in Section 5891, Streets and Highways
Code of California.
Said City Engineer's Certificate and Notice of Lien shall be turned over to the Tax Collector
of the City of Alameda, as an alternative method of collection of the amounts thereof authorized by
Section 5893 of said Code, whereupon said Tax Collector shall add the amount of assessment, or install-
ment thereof, to the next regular bill for taxes levied against the respective lot or parcel of land.
Thereafter the amount of said liens shall he collected at the same time and in the same
manner as ordinary City of Alameda taxes are collected, and shall be subject to the same penalties
and interest and to the same procedure under foreclosure and sale in case of delinquency es provided
for such ordinary taxes.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
3rd day of October, 1972, by the following vote, to wit:

ABSENT: None.
