YTHEREAS, by its Ordinance No. 158.6 New Series, enacted April 8, 1969, the City adopted az
its comprehensive, lbng—term. general plan for the physical devolopment of the City, that certain
docament consisting of text, diagrams, raps and other materials, entitied,vfomprehensive General
Plan — 1990 for Alameda, California," all in accordance with Sections 653C0 and. following, Govern-
ment Code of California; and
ETHEREAS, by state mandate found in faction 65302(d) of said Cede, the City is requared
to adort a conservation element of its General Plan, yinich element provides for the conservation,
develooment, and utilization of natural resozrces including (hater and its hydraulic force, forests,
soils, rivers and other Naters, harbors, fisheries, mildlife, minerals and other natural resources;
and
ILITOZAS, the City PlantMlig Department has prepared such document, entitied,"Cormeryation
Element of the Geneyal Plan. of the flity of Alameda, May, 1973,v tha same having been submitted to
and. considered by the Planning Board, mhich duly noticed and hold public hearings thereon, and
whioh, on Lay 7, 1973, by its Resolution. No. 80Mq approved said Element and reeannended adoption
thereof by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on June 5, 1973, received said Boardts report, held a public
hearin6 en the questions of xi:ether said Element conforms to general law and utether its adoption
would be in. the public interest, heard testimony. hnd took other evidence thereon, foliimmirg which
said Council considered the matter and mos fully advised in the premizesq
NOW TIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE) CY TEE COUNCIL OF ME CrIC7 afiEDA that the City,a
said Comprehensive General Plan be and hereby is amended by adopting as a conservation. element
