RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN MEMORIAM
TO ALBERT H. AINSLOW, FORMER MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES
BOARD
WITH GREAT SORROW, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death
of one of its most loyal and civic-minded citizens, ALBERT H. AINSLOW.
WHEREAS, Mr. Ainslow had served the City continously as a member of the
Public Utilities Board from the date of his appointment on January 22, 1962,
until his resignation from membership, because of ill health, effective June 30,
1973; and
WHEREAS, during the above period of time Mr. Ainslow had been selected
by his fellow members of the Board to serve as their President for the terms
commencing July 1, 1963 through June 30, 1964; July 1, 1966 through June 30, 1967;
and July 1, 1969 through June 30, 1970; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ainslow had given generously of his time and business
experience in the performance of his duties and had served, additionally, as a
member of the Board of Directors of the Alameda Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, "Hal", as he was known, had shown a most amicable and co-
operative attitude toward his fellow Board members and the administrative officials
of the City, and had engendered the friendship and esteem of all with whom he
associated by his genial personality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda,
in recognition of the civic concern shown by this fine man through the years, does
hereby express its sense of personal loss and its appreciation for his service to
the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread in full upon the
minutes of this meeting and a copy thereof be sent to the family of Mr. Ainslow
in order to extend to its members a sincere expression of condolence in their
bereavement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that when this meeting of the Council of the City
of Alameda adjourns, it shall do so in respect to the memory of ALBERT H. AINSLOW.
