URGING THAT NO CHANGE 01 RADE fl THE COMPRIIIENSIVE LAND
USE PLAN HERETOFORE ADOPTED 100 THE ALATIEDA COUNTY AIRPORT
LAND USE CCEMIOSION
WEEREAS, the Alameda County Airport Land Use Commission on April 12, 1972, adopted a
comprehensive land use plan for the area found to he presently and potentially affected by
operations at the Oakland International Airport, in full discharge of its authority and respon-
sibility under the statues of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, said land use plan is in substantial compliance with the approved General
Plans of the County of Alameda and the City of Alameda; and
V812EAS, The Port of Oakland, operator of Oakland International Airport, has urged.
said Commission to modify said and use plan in such a manner as effectively tc destroy the
right and dute of the City of Alameda to control the use of lands within said City, given due
regard to the operational needs of Oakland International Airport; and
WEEEPEAS, said Port of Oakland has failed during a long course of hearings and work
sessions before said Commission to offer factual testimony in support of the need for a change
in said land use plan; and
WHEREAS, to the contrary, the City of Alameda has through its testimony clearly
demonstrated that no such need exists.
NOW, THRE:ECU, BE IT RESOLVED BY 122 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAI-122A that the
Alameda County Airport Land Use Commission be and is hereby requested to retain the land use
plan heretofore adopted, without substantive change.
