WIERDAS, pursuant to law the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Reclamation. District
No. 2087, at least seven days prior to the final date for receiving petitions, duly published
notice that nominating petitions for the office of trustee would he received not later than 5:00
p.m. on Septanber 13, 1973 (said date being the day after the 54th day before an election to be
held in said District on Tuesday, November 6, 1973, since the 54th day is a legal holiday);
WHEREAS, only two petitions for office of trustee were filed by said time and date;
WHEELS, the number of trustees to be elected at said election ie two, each for a four
year ter, and the number of nominees does not exceed the number of trustees to be elected; and
WHEREAS, a petition signed by 5 or any other) percent of the voters requesting that
the election be held has not been presentee to the Board of Trustees of said District;
NOW, THEREFORE, 00 IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda, an follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 50740 of the Water Code of the State of California,
an election shall not be held in Reclamation District No. 2097 on November 6, 1973, for the pur-
pose of electing trustees of said District.
Section 2. The persons duly nominated for the positions of trustee, namely John h.
James and Bruce T. Mitchell are each hereby appointed to the office of trustee of aeolamation.
District No. 2067. The terms of office of John N. James and Bruce T. Mitchell are to be for a
term of four years commencing November 6, 1973.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1910 day of September, 1973, by the following vote:
AYES: Councihnen Beckam, Oorica, Hurwitz, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT; None.
