SUPPORTING STATE SENATE BILL NO. 1877, INTRODUCED
BY liON. JOHN A— NEJEDAY, AUTHORIZING PORTION OF
COUNTY TO BE WITHDRAWN FROM SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA
GAPID TRANSIT DISTRICT, AND URGING IMISLATURE TO
ENACT SAME.
=READ, The Hon. John A. Nejedly, state Senator of the 7th District, has introduced
Senate Bill No. 1877 mhich, among other things, nould amend Sections 29652 through 29654, Public
Utilities Code of California, to provide that a portion of any county, rather then an entire county
only, be authorized to be withdrawn from the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District; and
UHEREAS, enaction by the Legislature of said sections into law would be in the best i
on the City of Almneda,
NOW EGGREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED DY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A1AMEDA that the City of Alameda
supports and endorses said Senate Bill No. 1877 and strongly urges the state Legislature to effect
passage thereof into law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOINED that the City Clerk make known to the Legislature this C' P1
support of said measure by sending a copy of this resolution to the Hon. John A. Nejedly, the hon.
Nicholas C. Petris, the Hon. John W. Holmdahl, the Hon. Fong, the Hon. John J. Miller, and the
Konilien Meade.
