RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN
COMMENDATION OF OSCAR J. SOLE', ON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Council. of the City of Alameda that OSCAR J. SOPOL
is retiring from the position of IndustrialTygienist and Certified Safety Professional, U. S. Naval Air
Station, Alameda; and
WHEREAS, Mr. 50501 commenced his service at Alameda Naval Air Station in 1.948 and has, over
the years, been appointed to higher levels of importance because of his recognized capabilities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sobol has been a foremost proponent of the abatement of noise pollution and
has served on the Governor's Committee for Pollution and the State Ad hoc Committee for the Twelfth
Naval District for Pollution Abatement; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sobol has earned. the gratitude of the community in his ever—continuing efforts
and success in abating the noise pollution generated by aircraft and engine maintenance operations of
the Alameda Naval Air Station; and
WTEREAL, Mr. Sobel has actively participated in community activities and has been a
regular attendant at Council meetings;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby commends
this outstanding citizen for his devotion to the interests of the community and expresses its appre-
ciation for the spirit of cooperation he has unfailingly displayed in his contacts with the govern-
mental officials and the offices of the City of Alameda.
EL IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby extends to
05018 J. SOBOL sincere felicitations upon his retirement and best wishes for his continued good
health and happiness.
