AUTHORIZING EMPLOYMENT OF SPECIAL LEGAL COUNSEL IN
FROCEEDINCS AGAINST CERTAIN OAKLAND AIRPORT OFERAIIONS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEOA, that pursuant to Charter Section
8-5 and at the request of the City Attorney, there is hereby authorized the employment of
Fadem, Kanner, Berger and Stocker, attorneys at law, as special counsel to assist the City
Attorney in such proceedings as may be necessary or desirable, against the City of Oakland,
acting by and through its Board of Port Commiasierers, to secure legal relief from noise and
safety hazards to the people of Alameda, existing and caused by the use of Oakland Airport
Runways 27 for jet and multieengined aircraft
88 IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there 13 hereby appropriated and authorized the payment of
a. sum not to exceed $17,500.00 as fees to said counsel for such representation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and he hereby is authorized to commence
such proceedings or litigation as in his opinion may be necessary to obtain such relief.
