Resolution 08220244 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8220 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN COMMENDATION OF POLICE OFFICER TERRY PITTS WHEREAS, on June 17, 1974, POLICE OFFICER TERRY PITTS, displayed great courage and presence of mind in personally rescuing Patricia Delrio from the waters of the Bay; and WHEREAS, Officer Pitts' act of fearlessness saved the life of this young woman, and it is fitting and proper that such a courageous act be given public recognition and acknowledgment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda, for and on behalf of the people of the City, does hereby recognize the valor exemplified by Officer Pitts in averting further tragedy in this dangerous situation, and extends its sincere congratulations and commendation for his meritorious act. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be presented to Officer Pitts as an expression of the heartfelt gratitude and plaudits he so richly deserves for his bravery. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of July, 1974, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Hurwitz, McCall and Vice President Corica, (4).
