CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8224,
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND
TRAINING ACT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 has been enacted into
law; and
WHEREAS, this Act is designed to reduce unemployment by providing funding for jobs
necessary for local public services; and
WHEREAS, the County of Alameda has been designated as the primary contracting entity
to administer allocation of funds to cities in Alameda County; and
WHEREAS, funds will be allocated to such cities only if an application for such
allocation is filed with Alameda County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF ALAMEDA that the City
Manager is hereby authorized and directed to submit to the County of Alameda the application of
the City of Alameda for allocation of funds under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act
of 1978, together with all documentation and information necessary to accompany said application,
I HEREBY CERTIFY the foregoing resolution was introduced at a meeting of the City
Council of the City of Alameda held on July 2, 1974, by Councilman Hurwitz who moved its adoption
and passage, which motion was carried after being duly seconded, and passed by the following rote:
AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Hurwitz, McCall and Vice President Carina (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: President La Croix, Jr„ (1).
SECONDED: Councilman Beckam.
