CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8253
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN COMMENDATION
OF POLICE OFFICER GARY PRUITT
WHEREAS, on July 24, 1974, Police Officer GARY PRUITT, responded to an injury accident
in the 500 block of Atlantic Avenue in which the victim had suffered a heart attack; and
WHEREAS, Officer Pruitt did, in concert with Navy Corpsman Mr, Billy Wright, administer
mouth-to-mcoth resuscitation and external heart massage to the victim thereby reviving him; and
WHEREAS, Officer Pruitt's presence of mind and prompt action extended the life of this
citizen, and it is fitting and proper that such act be given public recognition and acknowledgement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City cf Alameda, for and on
behalf of the people of the City, does hereby recognize Officer Pruitt's exemplary performance
and extends its sincere acclaim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy cf this resolttion be presented to Police Officer
GARY PRUITT as an expression of the genuine praise and respect he merits.
