Resolution 08342CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8342 AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT APPLICATION TO CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE FOR GRANT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES AND TO EXECUTE RESULTING GRANT AWARD CONTRACT WHEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to undertake a certain project designated "Southern Police institute Administrative Officers Course" to be funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. PL 90-355, as amended, PL 91-644, (hereafter referred to as the Safe Streets Act) or the Crime Control Act of 1973, administered by the California Council on Criminal Justice (hereafter referred to as CCCJ), NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of Alameda is authorized, on its behalf, to submit the attached application for Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to CCCJ and is authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Alameda the resulting Grant Award Contract for law enforcement purposes including any extensions or amendments thereof, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to provide all matching funds required for said project (including any extension or amendment thereof) under the Safe Streets Act or the Crime Control Act of 1973 and the rules and regulations of CCCJ and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration and that cash will be appropriated as required thereby. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not he used to supplant ongoing law enforcement expenditures. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event that the project proves successful and barring unforeseen circumstances, it is the intent of the City of Alameda to continue the project through the use of local funds or other funds obtained for said purpose after support from CCCJ has terminated. * * * * * * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council Of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th day of May, 1975, by the following-vete, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Hurwitz, Sherratt and President Corica, (5).
