AUTHORIZING EMPLOYMENT OF SPECIAL CONSULTANT TO DEVELOP
INFORMATION FOR PROCEEDINGS AGAINST CERTAIN OAKLAND AIRPORT
OPERATIONS, TO ASSIST IN EVALUATION CF OAKLAND AIRPORT
EXPANSION PLANS AND TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NOISE
ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has instituted legal proceedings against the Port of
Oakland to secure relief from noise hazards to the people of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has instituted legal proceedings to review the adequacy
of the approval of expansion plans for the Oakland Airport; and
WHEREAS, the City is Preparing a noise element as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the computation of noise contours in Alameda produced by the operation of
airports is necessary in all the above matters;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that there is
hereby authorized the employment of the firm of Wyle Laboratories, Inc. as special consultant to
develop noise contours and other pertinent data describing the impact of airport noise on the
City of Alameda.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated and authorized the payment of
a sum not to exceed $30,000 as fees to said Consultants, payment to be made in the manner like
claims against the City are paid or by contract between the City and the Consultant, which shall
be payable from City's Tideland Revenue (Trust) Fund, Account No, 236.
