RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN COMMENDATION
OF LAVERNE F. RANDALL, COMMERCIAL MANAGER OF THE BUREAU OF
ELECTRICITY AND SECRETARY TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Council of the City of Alameda that October 17,
1975, will mark the date of the retirement of LAVERNE F, "MONK" RANDALL as Commercial Manager of the
Bureau of Electricity and Secretary of the Public Utilities Board; and
WHEREAS, 'MONK" RANDALL, as he is known to friends and associates, began his public service
with the Bureau of Electricity on March 8, 2938, as a Counter Clerk-Typist; and
WHEREAS, he has served continuously in increasingly responsible positions culminating in
his appointment as Commercial Manager and Secretary to the Public Utilities Board; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Bureau of Electricity many notable improvements have
been accomplished which greatly benefited the citizens of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, his dedication to the citizens of Alameda is further evidenced by many years of
enthusiastic participation in organizations such as Rotary Club, Elks Club, Boy Scouts, United
Crusade, Red Cross and many other groups serving a variety of needs of Alamedans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby commends
this outstanding public servant for his devotion to the interests of the citizens of this City, and
expresses its appreciation for that service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby extends to
LAVERNE F. "MONK" RANDALL sincere congratulations upon his retirement and best wishes for his
continued good health and happiness.
