CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 8434
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THF PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR AN ALLOCATION TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,925.00 FROM THE GRADE CROSSING PROTECTION
FUND
WHEREAS, Statutes of 1953, Chapter 1739, provides for allocation of funds by the
Public Utilities Commission to assist local agencies in paying their share of crossing
protection at grade crossings of railroads and city and county highways; and
WHEREAS, at the Blanding Avenue crossing of the Southern Pacific Transportation
Company tracks in the City of Alameda, being crossing No. 0-10,50-C, it is proposed to
construct the grade crossing protection devices and there will be installed three (3)
No. 9 flashing light grade crossing signals equipped with automatic gate arms, together with
necessary actuating and operating circuits and adequate instrument housing; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the installation of the aforesaid railroad crossing
protection devices is estimated to be $39,700.00, and the City of Alameda has agreed to pay
500 of such cost of installation in the amount of $19,850.00.
NOW THEREFORE, BF IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor
of the City of Alameda is hereby authorized for and on behalf of said City to make application
to the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California for an allocation to the City
of Alameda from the Grade Crossing Protection Fund in the amount of $9,925.00.

assembled on the 23rd day of October, 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
