Resolution 08440CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 8440
REQUESTING THE ACAP GOVERNING BOARD TO PERMIT THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA TO JOIN IN THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Associated Community Action Program, hereafter referred to as "ACAP",
is a public agency as a federally designated "Community action agency" for the purpose of
receiving, planning and administering federal funds for human services; and
WHEREAS, the ACAP is administered under a joint powers agreement with the Alameda County
Board of Supervisors and seven city councils of Southern Alameda County; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has under consideration the possibility of
joining as a member of the joint powers agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, 3E IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that said Council
does hereby request the ACAP Governing Board to allow the City of Alameda to become a participant
agency in the Joint Powers Agreement Establishing a Community Action Agency in Alameda County;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if said request is granted a proposed joint powers agreement
be submitted to the City Council for their perusal and consideration;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
Governing Board of ACAP,
