ADOPTING STATE RELOCATION ASSISTANCE HANDBOOK AS POLICY FOR
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS CF CITY OF ALAMEDA AND
AUTHORIZING CHANGES AND PAYMENTS UP TO 55,000 WITHOUT FURTHER
COUNCIL ACTION
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda intends to enter into the Relocation Assistance Programs
required by State legislation, and the State Division of Highways has developed a handbook
containing oolicy, rules, regulations, procedures and forms for the implementation of such
programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that this Council
does and it hereby adopts the State of California Department of Public Works Division of Highways
"Relocation Assistance Handbook," Part 1 and Part 11, dated September 22, 1971, appropriately
modified as to designations, corrected, and up-dated, a copy of which is on file in the office
of the City Clerk, as the policy, rules, regulations and procedures to be followed, insofar as
is practicable, in the operation and administration of the Relocation Assistance Programs of
the City of Alameda; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that future changes in said programs caused hy addition or
deletion of State and/or Federal requirements shall be incorporated into said City programs without
further action by this Council; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or his designee, shall act in the capacity
of Relocation Officer, and he is hereby authorized to approve the payment of claims, not to exceed
$5,000, in connection with said programs, and the Auditor-Assessor is hereby authorized and
directed to pay such approved claims without further action by this Council.
