Resolution 08480CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8480 DESIGNATING CERTAIN LANDS IN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AS "BUENA VISTA PARK" WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission has reviewed suggestions for naming the new park on the northside of Alameoa; and WHEREAS, the recommendation to the City Council was for the name "Buena Vista Park"; and WHEREAS, Buena Vista denotes the Spanish heritage of the City; and WHEREAS, the name means good or beautiful view which symbolizes the beauty of the new park; and WHEREAS, all citizens of Alameda and more especially those residing on the northside of Alameda will enjoy the facilities and activities of this beautiful new park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF ALAMEDA that the lands bounded by Sherman Street, Buena Vista Avenue, Benton Street and Pacific Avenue be, and the same are hereby designated as 'Buena Vista Park." * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assemhled on the 3rd day of February, 1976, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Diament, Hurwitz and President Corica, (2) NOES; Councilmen Beckam and Sherratt, (2), ABSENT: Nene.
