CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 8496
AMENDING COMPREHENSIVE GENERAL PLAN BY ADOPTING SCENIC HIGHWAYS
ELEMENT THEREOF AND CERTIFYING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT
FOR SAID ELEMENT
WHEREAS, by its Ordinance No. 1586, New Series- enacted April 8, 1969, the City Adopted
as its comprehensive, long-term general plan for the physical development of the City, that certain
document consisting of text, diagrams, maps and other materials, entitled, "Comprehensive General
Plan - 1990 for Alameda, California, all in accordance with Sections 65300 and following, Govern-
ment Code of California; and
WHEREAS, hy state mandate found in Section 65302 (h) of said Code, the City is required
to adopt a scenic highway element for the development, establishment, and protection of scenic
highways pursuant to the provisions of Article 2.5 (commencing with Section 260) of Chapter 2 of
Division 1 of the Streets and Highways Code, said element being defined and described as the Scenic
Highways Element of the said General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Department has prepared such document, entitled, "City of
Alameda Scenic Highways Element, November, 1975," the same having been submitted to and considered
by the Planning Board, which duly noticed and held public hearings thereon, and which, on February 11,
1976, approved said Element and recommended adoption thereof by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on March 16, 1976, received said Board's report and recommenda-
tions, held a public hearing on the questions of whether said Element conforms to general law and
whether its adoption would he in the public interest, heard testimony and took other evidence
thereon, following which said Council considered the matter and was fully advised in the premises;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board and the City Council have reviewed and considered a Final
Environmental Impact Report for said Element;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF ALAMEDA that said Council
certifies that it has reviewed and considered the information contained in the Final Environmental
Impact Report and further certifies that said Report has been completed in compliance with CEQA
and state guidelines,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City's said comprehensive General Plan be and hereby is
amended by adopting as its Scenic Highways Element for the development, establishment and protection
of scenic highways within its jurisdiction, that document hereinabove referred to entitled, "City
of Alameda Scenic Highways Element, November, 1975," as heretofore filed in the Office of the
City Clerk.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th
day of March, 1976, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Horwitz, Sherratt and President Corica, (5).
NOES: None,
ABSENT: None.
