Resolution 0850898 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 8508 OPPOSING SENATE BILL 1500, CALLING FOR REORGANIZATION OF THE CALIFORNIA TRIAL COURTS WHEREAS, SO 1500 has been introduced in the California Legislature; and WHEREAS, SO 1500 calls for the reorganization of the California trial courts; and WHEREAS, said reorganization proposes to shift the cost of funding such reorganization from the counties to the state; and WHEREAS, the state would fund such reorganization from the state general fund with funds collected under Vehicle Code fines and forfeitures; and NHEREAS, fifty percent of said funds previously were allocated to cities under Section 1463 of the Penal Code; and WHEREAS, said loss of funds would further compound a city and its taxpayers problem in meeting the obligations of their local government; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City of Alameda oppose the passage of SB 1500. * * * * * * * * * * 1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th day of April, 1976, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckon', Diament, Hurwitz, Sherratt and President Corica, (5).
