Resolution 08636CITY CF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 8636 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA FIRMING THE DEVELOPMENT AND DEVELOPMENT SCHEDULE FOR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF BAY FARM ISLAND WHEREAS, Harbor Bay Isle Associates proposes to develop residential, commercial, recreational and industrial uses on 917.6 acres located on Bay Farm Island; and WHEREAS, Harbor Bay Isle Associates proposes to build a maximum of 3,200 dwelling units on its residentially zoned land as a predominantly low density, water oriented, residential community, hereinafter "the project"; and WHEREAS, Crocker National Bank has requested of the Alameda City Council an indication of its conceptual support for the Harbor Bay Isle devebpment and a schedule for processing permits to achieve that development; and WHEREAS, the Alameda City Council has conceptually supported this project by rezoning Harbor Bay Isle's residential land R-1-PD, overriding an action of the Airport Land Use Commission to preserve this zoning classification, and entering into an agreement with Harbor Bay Isle Associates and the Port of Oakland which settled litigation among the parties affecting this property-, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager be authorized to communicate the City Council's conceptual support for the project to Crocker National Bank; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council desires to see construction started as soon as possible, on that part of the project for which zoning and subdivision approval has been obtained; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council encourages Harbor Bay Isle Associates to submit applications on all residentially zoned property owned by it, except for land south of the 65 CNEL line as stated in the 1976 Noise Element, as soon as possible in order that timely, efficient and orderly processing of these applications can commence; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council supports an orderly schedule for processing the remaining land use and subdivision permits yet to be obtained by Harbor Bay Isle Associates for all residentially zoned property owned by it; except for land south of the 65 CNEL line as stated in the 1976 Noise Element, which schedule has as its goal completion of such processing by October, 1977, with the understanding that this is only a goal toward which the City and Harbor Bay Isle Associates will attempt to achieve in good faith; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that nothing in this resolution should be construed as approval by the City Council of any land use or subdivision applications of Harbor Bay Isle Associates not yet processed. * * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regularmeeting assembled on the 21st day of December, 1976, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Hurwitz, Sherratt and President Corica, (5), NOES: None.
