CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8702
AUTHORIZING CITY OF ALAMEDA ANIMAL SHELTER TO PROVIDE ANIMALS
FOR THE LATHAM FOUNDATION SPONSORED PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Latham Foundation and Alameda Animal:Rescue and Control are sponsoring
a program to provide animals to visit incapacitated elderly persons and Meals on Whets recipients
in the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the sponsors have requested that they be allowed to utilize the Animal
Shelter for available animals for said program; and
WHEREAS, the City supports such a program; and
WHEREAS, necessary precautions will be taken to protect the City from liability
respecting such program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that said Council
approve the request of the Latham Foundation and Alameda Animal Rescue and Control for the use
of animals from the City of Alameda Animal Shelter for this program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this program shall not be instituted until the Latham
Foundation can provide insurance coverage for the City satisfactory to the City Attorney.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Aalmeda in regular meeting assembled on the
19th day of April, 1977, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Beckma, Diament, Sherratt, Tillman and President Corica, (5).
NOES: None,
ABSENT: None.
