CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8716
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE "ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA, IMAGEABILITY
STUDY" AS AN OFFICIAL RECORD AND POLICY GUIDE
WHEREAS, the City Council approved by its Resolution No. 8529, adopted June 1,
1976, the submission of an application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development for funds for "Section 701" comprehensive planning assistance, consisting of,
among other things, an overall Program Desion; and
WHEREAS, the Overall Program Design contained three program elements - An Imageability
Study, an Urban Design Plan, and an Implementation Plan, which are components of an Urban Design
Element to the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Imageability Study was completed in March, 1977, the same having been
submitted to and considered by the Planning Board, which duly noticed and held public hearings
thereon, and which, on April 18, 1977, approved said Study to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on May 24, 1977, received said Board's report and
recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is informed that the Study has been found by the Environmental
Assessment Committee to be Categorically Exempt under Class 6 of Section 15106 of the City's
Guidelines for the Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that said Council
hereby approves and adopts the 'Alameda, California Imageability Study", dated March, 1977, and
heretofore filed ir the office of the City Clerk, as an official record and policy guide for
future planning.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on
the 24th day of May, 1977, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Sherratt, Tillman and President Corica, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
