AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT WITH MARSHALL KAPLAN,
GANS, AND KAHN (MKGK) FOR PROVIDING A SITE ACQUISITION
ANALYSIS AND FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS FOR SECTION 8 HOUSING
IN SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City has entered into a Grant Agreement
with the United States of America, acting through its Department
of Housing and Urban Development, Community Planning and
Development Administration, for a Community Development Program
for the residents of the City pursuant to Title I of the Housing
and Community Development Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, HUD has indicated to the City that its eligi-
bility to receive Title I Funds is dependent upon fulfilling
certain steps made in the City's Housing Assistance Plan, said
steps, to include initiation of a site acquisition analysis and
a feasibility analysis; and
WHEREAS, Marshall Kaplan, Gans, and Kahn (MKGK) has the
professional competence and desires to provide the required site
and feasibility analyses.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor and City Clerk be, and each hereby
is authorized to execute and to attest to, respectively, on behalf
of the City, a contract and agreement with MKGK to provide a site
acquisition analysis and feasibility analysis for Section 8 Housing
in support of the Community Development Program, said agreement
to be substantially in the form of that heretofore placed in the
Office of the City Clerk and marked, "Filed, July 19, 1977.
