AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR CONSULTANT
SERVICES WITH LUXENBERG AND ALFF FOR THE PREPARATION
OF A RESTORATION MANUAL FOR VICTORIAN AREAS
CONTAINING DESIGN GUIDELINES REGARDING VISUAL
INTEGRATION OF OLD AND NEW STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, Project 77 -7 of Alameda`s 1977 -78 HCDA Applica-
tion, Neighborhood Design Guidelines, the purpose' of which is to
supply design guidelines for an older neighborhood where'
Victorian dwellings have become interspersed with newer apartments
and some offices, has been approved for funding by the Housing and
Community Development Act and the National Endowment for the Arts;
and
WHEREAS, the City requires the services of a competent and
qualified consultant to prepare a restoration manual for Victorian
areas containing said design guidelines; and
WHEREAS, Luxenberg -and Alff, Consultants, (also known as
Historical Design Consultants) have represented they have the
professional competence and ability to Prepare said manual and
guidelines and the City relies thereupon, and deems it in the best
public interest to obtain their services,. and
'WHEREAS, a form of contract between the City and said
consultants has been submitted, by which said services are to be
rendered, and which encompasses the nature, extent and scope
thereof, and this Council is informed of the contents of said
agreement;
NOW THEREFOREp BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute
on behalf of the City, that certain proposed agreement for consultant
services hereinabove referred to, as filed in the office' of the
City Clerk and marked "Filed; September 6, 1977," and said Clerk' is
directed to attest to same,

TO ENFORCE HARBOR AND NAVIGATION LAWS IN BAY
WATERS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
said Council supports the program the East Bay Regional Park
District has proposed to enforce harbor and navigation laws
in Bay waters within the city limits of Alameda.
