AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA FOR LOCAL COOPERATION ON SHORELINE
EROSION CONTROL DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM IN ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, the Shoreline Erosion Control Demonstration Act
of 1974 (Section 54 of PUBLIC LAW 93-251) authorized the estab-
lishment of a shoreline erosion control demonstration pr ject
at the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the City has the authority and capability to
furnish the non-Federal cooperation required by the Federal
legislation authorizing the Project and other applicable law; and
WHEREAS, a proposed contract with the United States of
America for local cooperation on the Shoreline Erosion Control
Demonstration Program in the City has been submitted to this
Council and the Council is fully informed and aware of the terms
and conditions thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that said agreement be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor and City Clerk be and each hereby is
authorized and directed to execute and to attest to respectively,
on behalf of the City, that certain agreement with the United
States of America which provides for local cooperation on the
Shoreline Erosion Control Demonstration Program in the City of
Alameda, said agreement to be substantially in the form of that
on file in the office of the City Clerk and marked, "Filed,
February 7, 1978."
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the council of the
-City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of February,
1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Sherratt, and President Corica, (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Tillman, (1).
