Resolution 08866CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8866 REAFFIRMING CITY COUNCIL'S OPPOSITION TO ENTRANCE OF THE CONCORDE SST INTO THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA MARKET WHEREAS, by its Resolution No. 8482 adopted on Febru- ary 17, 1976, this Council expressed its opposition to the entrance of the Concorde SST into the United States, the San Francisco Bay Area market and particularly the Oakland International Airport; and WHEREAS, the Concorde SST is presently using Washington's Dulles Airport and New York's Kennedy Airport; and WHEREAS, the Carter administration in September, 1977, announced eleven more United States cities where the Concorde might operate, given local approval; and WHEREAS, one of the cities named was San Francisco; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that this Council reaffirms its great concern over, and its strenuous opposition to, the entrance of the Concorde SST into the San Francisco Bay Area and particularly at Oakland International Airport. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Alameda solicits the support of all Bay Area Communities in its stand opposing the entrance of the Concorde into the San Francisco Bay Area. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of February, 1978, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Sherratt, and President Corica, (4).
