AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION TO UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
FOR FUNDS UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is considered an entitlement
City and accordingly has been receiving federal funds authorized
and appropriated under the Housing and Community Development.
Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, in 1977, Congress enacted a new Housing and
Community Development Act which further authorizes and appro-
priates funds which the City is eligible to receive; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has prepared an application
for funding under the new legislation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is authorized to submit said
application to the United States' Department of Housing and
Urban Development for funding under the Housing and Community
Development Block Grant Program.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
Was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of February,
1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, and Tillman, (3).
NOES: President Corica, (1).
ABSENT: Councilman Beckam, (1).
