Resolution 08977CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8977 DECLARING INTENTION TO PROHIBIT, BY ORDINANCE, TI3E USE OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY ROUTE 260 AND A PORTION OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY ROUTE 61 IN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA BY ANY VEHICLE EXCEEDING MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT OF THREE TONS, SETTING DATE OF HEARING THEREON BY CITY COUNCIL, AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF SAID HEARING, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 4, CHAPTER 5, DIVISION 15, VEHICLE CODE OF CALIFORNIA BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that it intends to enact an ordinance prohibiting the use by any and all vehicles whose maximum gross weight exceeds three tons on the following public streets in the City of Alameda: California Highway Route 260 and a portion of California Highway Route 61 in the City of Alameda located as follows: Webster Street from the City of Alameda north city limit line in the middle of the estuary to Central Avenue; thence easterly on Central Avenue to Encinal Avenue; thence easterly on Encinal Avenue to Broadway; thence southerly on Broadway to Otis Drive; thence easterly on Otis Drive to the Bay Farm Island Bridge; thence across the Bay Farm Island Bridge to but not including Island Drive. BE IT; FURTHER RESOLVED that the following alternate truck route is proposed: The alternate truck route will include portions of the Nimitz Freeway, Hegenberger Road and Doolittle Drive to wit: the Nimitz Freeway with appropriate on and off ramps in the vicinity of Broadway in the City of Oakland, easterly to Hegenberger Road, southerly to Doolittle Drive, westerly to Island Drive in the City of Alameda. BE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1978, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber located the City Hall, is hereby set as the time and place this Council will hold a public hearing on its said intention and will make a determination on whether to limit the weight of vehicles using such streets, and at which all interested persons may submit objections to the proposed action. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause notice of such hearing to be given and published in the manner and at the time provided for in Section 35705 of the Vehicle Code of California, being a part of Article 4, Chapter 5, Division 15 of said Code. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of September, 1978, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: NOES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Sherratt, Tillman, and President Corica, (5).
