AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH A. JOHN MERLO,
INC. DBA EAST BAY YELLOW CAB COMPANY, INC. RELATING
TO CITY'S ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED TAXI SERVICE
WHEREAS, the City has entered into an agreement with the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) whereunder City has
been allocated funds for the purpose of conducting an Elderly and
Handicapped Taxi Service pursuant to the provisions of Article 4.5
of the Transportation Development Act; and
WHEREAS, a proposed agreement with A. John Merlo, Inc. dba
East Bay Yellow Cab Company, Inc., a California corporation, for
its services in implementing the proposed service has been
submitted to this Council and the Council is fully informed and
aware of the terms and conditions thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda
that said agreement be entered into
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute, for and on behalf of the City of Alameda, that certain
.:, agreement referred to above by and between A. John Merlo, Inc.
dba East Bay Yellow Cab Company, Inc. and the City of Alameda, for
services relating to the Citys Elderly and Handicapped Taxi
