RESOLUTION COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
IN [uMMENDATIPN OF TOM L. HOUCHINS, SHERIFF OF
ALAMEDA COUNTY
WHEREAS, TOM L. HOUChlN3 has been a member of the Alameda County
Sheriff's Department since 1946; and
WHEREAS, he has held the ranks of deputy obcriff, sergeant,
detective, lieutenant, captain` division chief, undersheriff, and
assistant sheriff; and

WHEREAS, he was elected sheriff and assumed that office on

WHEREAS, he has been a leader of professional law enforcement
in Alameda County and the State of California; and
WHEREAS, under his direction Jmi the Alameda

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City nci of the
City of Alameda expresses its appreciation to SHERIFF TOM HOUCHINS and
wishes him every success in his well deserved retirement,
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regUlar meeting assembled on the 16th day of January,
