APPROVING AND ADOPTING AN AMENDED BUDGET FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR 1978-1979, APPROPRIATING CERTAIN MONEYS
FOR THE EXPENDITURES PROVIDED IN SAID BUDGET FOR
SAID FISCAL YEAR AND RATIFYING CERTAIN EXPENDITURES
HERETOFORE MADE
WHEREAS, there has been previously submitted to and filed
with this Council a budget representing a financial plan for
conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 1978 and ending June 30, 1979, which budget is
marked "Filed August 15, 1978"; and
WHEREAS, revenues were received during said fiscal year
which exceed the amount appropriated for said fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, revenues will be received by June 30, 1979, which
have not yet been appropriated for said fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, taxes are due and payable for said fiscal year,
or may be prepaid in said fiscal year which have not yet been
appropriated for said fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the
best interests of the City to appropriate all revenues received,
to be received and receivable in said fiscal year and
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to and filed with this
Counbil, at this meeting, an amended budget which is marked
"Filed June 5, 1979";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said amended budget as submitted to this Council
at this meeting, and each and every part thereof, be, and the
same is hereby, approved and adopted as the budget for the City
of Alameda for the fiscal year 1978-1979, and that the expendi
tures of the various sums of money therein provided to be spent
for salaries and wages, maintenance and operation, and capital
outlay, by each department as therein listed in detail, are
hereby approved and authorized in total, by the above object
classification, as the appropriations for the fiscal year ending
June 30, 1979.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 1978-1980 Capital Improve-
ment Plan, previously approved by this Council, and as amended
herein, is hereby adopted as part of said amended budget.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there be, and are hereby,
appropriated for the fiscal year 1978-1979, the specified sums
for the purpose of meeting the cost of salaries and wages paid
officers and employees, the cost of maintenance, operations, and
for equipment and other capital outlay of the respective depart-
ments, divisions, offices and boards of the City, and for all
other purposes designated in said amended budget for the respec-
tive purposes of the said departments, divisions, offices and
boards of the City, and for such special funds and other purposes
designated in said amended budget; and
SE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all of the appropriations
herein provided for are made out of the General Fund for the
fiscal year 1978- 1979, except those made to or for purposes for
which special funds are established, and as to such last
mentioned purposes said appropriations are made out of the special
funds respectively established therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such expenditures as may have
been made by the several departments; divisions, offices and
boards of the City after the beginning of the fiscal year
1978 -1979 and prier to the adoption of this resolution, and have
been or may be duly approved by the City Auditor, are hereby
ratified, confirmed and approved, and shall be respectively
charged against the appropriations herein and in said budget
provided for
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly'and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City
of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of June, 1979, by
the following vote, to wit:

President Corica, (5).
