COMMENDING LEORA RICKETTS, MEMBER OF THE SOCIAL
SERVICES COMMISSION OF THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, ' FOR
HER YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY AND COUNTY 'OF
ALAMEDA.
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Council of the
City of Alameda that LEORA RICKETTS is retiring as a Member of the
Social Services Commission of the County of Alameda after serving
ten years as a member; and
WHEREAS, LEORA RICKETTS began her career n social work with
the Social Services Agency of the County of Alameda on May 1, 1934,
and worked in increasingly responsible positions until her retirement
October 31, 1966; and
WHEREAS, her endeavors in the many fields of social and
welfare services have greatly benefited the citizens of the City of
Alameda and the County of Alameda;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City
of Alameda, for and on behalf of the people of the City, does hereby
express its appreciation for time and effort generously given to
community service and commends LEORA RICKETTS on her outstanding con-
tributions to the City and County of Alameda; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda
hereby extends to LEORA RICKETTS sincere felicitation; upon her retirement
and best wishes for her continued good health and happiness.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City
of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of December 1979, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen'Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman, and President
