AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO (A) SUBMIT AND EXECUTE
A GRANT APPLICATION WITH METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION
COMMISSION FOR TDA ARTICLE 4.5 FUNDS FOR ELDERLY/
HANDICAPPED TAXI AND ACCESSIBLE VAN SERVICES AND
(B) EXECUTE AGREEMENTS AS NECESSARY TO ADMINISTER
THE GRANT
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 pro-
vides for the disbursement of funds from the Local Transporta-
tion Fund of the County of Alameda for use by eligible claimants
for the purpose of community transit services projects; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have
been adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transportation
Agency of the State of California in accordance with the pro-
visions of the aforementioned legislation, an eligible claimant
wishing to receive an allocation from the Local Transportation
Fund shall file its application with the appropriate transporta-
tion planning agency; and
WHEREAS, funds from the Local Transportation Fund will be
required to subsidize an elderly/handicapped taxi and accessible
van services program; and
WHEREAS, administration and operation of taxi and van
services will necessitate administrative agreements between
participating cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager is authorized to execute
and file an appropriate claim pursuant to the terms of the
Transportation Development Act of 1971, as amended, and pursuant
to applicable rules and regulations promulgated thereunder,
together with all necessary supporting documents, with the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission for Transportation
Development Act monies; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized
to execute agreements as necessary to administer the grant; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in
conjunction with the filing of the claim and the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission be requested to concur in these
findings and grant the allocations of funds as specified herein.

Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th day
