Resolution 09284CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 9284 AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA BY ADOPTING THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ELEMENT_ THEREOF AND REVIEWING THE NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR SAID ELEMENT WHEREAS, by its Ordinance No. 1586 New Series, enacted April 8, 1969, the City adopted as its comprehensive, long -term general plan for the physical development of the City, that certain document consisting of text, diagrams, maps and other materials, entitled, "Comprehensive General Plan - 1990 for Alameda, California," all in accordance with Sections 65300 and following, Government Code of California; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 65302 (j) of said Code, the City desires to adopt a historical preservation element for the identification, establishment, and protection of sites and structures of architectural, historical, archaeological or cultural significance, said element being defined and described as the Historic Preservation Element of the General Plan; and WHEREAS document enti March 1980," t the Historical mitted to and noticed and he 1980, approved the City; and the City Planning Department has prepared such led, "Historic Preservation Element, Alameda, CA, e same having been submitted to and considered by Advisory Commission on April 3, 1980, and sub -' onsidered by the Planning Board, which duly d public hearings thereon, and which, on April 14,. said Element and recommended adoption thereof by;` WHEREAS, the City Council on May 6, 1980, held a public hearing on the questions of whether said Element conforms to general law and whether its adoption would be in the public interest, heard testimony and took other evidence thereon, following which said Council considered the matter and was fully advised in the premises; and WHEREAS, the Planning Board 1980, approved a Negative Declarat City Council has reviewed and cons t ion; at its meeting on April 14, on for said Element, and the dered said Negative Declara- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City's said comprehensive General Plan be and hereby is amended by adopting as its Historical Preservation Element for the identification, establishment, and protection of sites and structures of architectural, historical, archaeological or cultural significance, that document hereinabove referred to entitled, "Historic Preservation Element, Alameda, CA, March 1980," as heretofore filed in the office of the City Clerk.
