REJECTING ALL BIDS AND AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET
NEGOTIATION FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for furnishing Janitorial Service
for the City ITall and the Police Administration Building in
accordance with Specifications No. 5 -80 -5 approved June 3, 1980;
and
WHEREAS; in response to said notice only one bid was sub-
mitted, said bid being in an amount 140 percent higher than the
last fiscal year's low bid; and
n7HEREAS, the current contract far janitorial services
expires on June 30, 1980, which allows insufficient time for the
City to adver tise for additional bids;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said bid received from American Building
Maintenance be rejected and negotiation on the open market
Janitorial services at the City Hall and the Police Administration
Building is hereby authorized,
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by
the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 1st day of July, 1980, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None'
ABSENT: None
