Resolution 09376CITY OF ALAMEDA RESO UTION NO, 9376 REQUESTING CONSIDERATION OF AMENDMENTS TO THE PUBLIC RESOURCES CODE AND TO THE STATE GUIDELINES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORTS WHEREAS, it is the intent of the California Environmental Quality Act to maintain and protect the environment of the State of California; and WHEREAS, all general plan elements of a city entity are subject to negative declarations or environmental impact reports; and WHEREAS, said environmental impact reports are subject to public review and comment and do respond to the basic purposes of CEQA as delineated in Section 15006, Basic Purposes of CEQA; and WHEREAS, said general plan elements and environmental impact reports present and limit changes in use and development within delineated areas in an urbanized area; and WHEREAS, the environmental impact report should not be used to repeat previous discussions, findings or to delay projects which are included in previous EIRs; NOW THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the California League of Cities urge the Legislature of the State of California to exempt any project in . . a city which conforms to the general plan for said city and for which there is an EIR. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of September,1980 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman and President Corica - 5.
