AUTHORIZING THE EAST BAY MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE EASTSHORE
CONSULTANTS (TEC) IN CONNECTION WITH INFILTRATION AND
INFLOW INTO THE CITY'S SANITARY SEWERAGE SYSTEM
PURSUANT TO TEE JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, on February 13; 1979, the City of Alameda, with
other East Bay cities and the Stege Sanitary District, entered
into a Joint Powers Agreement with the East Bay Municipal Utility
District (EBMUD) for the Control of Wet Weather Overflows and
Bypasses (Inflow /infiltration Control Project); and
WHEREAS, said Joint Powers Agreement authorizes EBMU.D to
act as lead agency for the Sewer System Evaluation Survey portion
of the East Bay ,Infiltration /Inflow Study; and
WHEREAS, said Joint Powers Agreement specifies that the
Agency may employ consultants, with approval of each sewer agen
in which the consultant is to work; and
WHEREAS, EBMUD desires to enter into an agreement with
The Eastshore Consultants for the portion of the East Bay
Infiltration /Inflow Study to be performed in the Cities of Alameda,
Piedmont, and the Stege Sanitary District; and

WHEREAS, zt will be in the best

Alameda that said agreement be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY TILE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA that said Council does hereby authorize and approve the
agreement between East Bay Municipal Utility District, a public
corporation, and The Eastshore Consultants a joint - venture of
Black & Veatch, a partnership, Brown and Caldwell, a California
corporation, and Waste and Water International, a California
corporation, to conduct the first year initial study of Alameda's
sewerage system for the purpose of identifying, evaluating and
recording sources and quantities of infiltration and inflow.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City
of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of October, 1980,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman and
President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
